Décortech aims to follow best practice in all aspects of the manufacturing process of Décortech panels, including best practice in the management of our wastage.

Décortech has been supplying samples to the market for many years and has to date used recyclable custom cardboard boxes to present these in. These sample boxes have images of some of Décortech's outstanding projects showcased across them, which has been a great marketing tool showing the end result of what the samples can achieve.

Being mindful of the increase in environmental awareness, the Décortech team have put their ideas together to create new sample boxes in-house using the offcuts from active projects.

As Décortech panels are not always a standard sheet size the panel size requirements change from project to project. The offcuts created have traditionally been sent off to be recycled at a recycling facility but will now be utilised in creating a range of sample boxes, giving waste a second life and truly showcasing what Décortech can do all in one.

The second life project is currently in prototype stage with the Décortech team finalising the design and finer details to ensure the sample boxes will be aesthetically pleasing and durable. Décortech’s vision is that these sample boxes have a long life and are reused time and time again. Each sample box will be numbered and kept track of in a register to enable Décortech to contact the box holder to establish if they want the samples refreshed or the box picked up allowing it to be used again.
