Destination for Design

There’s something electric about walking into a space that just feels right, where every detail has been considered, and the atmosphere tells a story. That kind of magic doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of intention, passion, and a deep understanding of how design can elevate daily living

The new Concepts by Gavin Hepper Interior Design Studio, where Innovation meets Creativity and Design Evolves.   Known for pushing the boundary on colour, materiality and texture, the space has been designed to provide an inspiring studio space for the design team and a showcase of elevated joinery and innovative uses of materiality

We recently caught up with Gavin Hepper, founder and creative director of Concepts by Gavin Hepper, to chat about what inspired his latest design venture, what drives the studio’s signature style, and what’s coming next.

Let’s start at the beginning—what inspired you to launch the new Concepts by Gavin Hepper studio?

Gavin:
Launching the studio felt like a natural evolution. The brand celebrates 20 years in the industry this year, and I wanted to create a space that truly reflected not only our design ethos but also gave room for bold, forward-thinking ideas to come to life. It’s about pushing boundaries while staying true to the fundamentals of functional, elevated living.   As a destination for design, this space allows our clients to experience the possibilities of design and interact with an extensive range of materiality in-sitchu.

How would you describe the vibe or philosophy behind the studio?

Gavin:
At its core, it’s about intentional design—spaces that are not just beautiful but deeply livable. We’re big believers in creating environments that serve people’s lifestyles without compromising on style. Everything we do is considered, personal, and crafted to stand the test of time for our individual clients.

Were there any big influences that shaped the look and feel of the studio—maybe travel, architecture, or even personal experiences?

Gavin:
Definitely. Travel has played a huge role. Experiencing different cultures, materials, and spatial relationships opens your eyes to what’s possible.   A recent trip to Milan Design Week provided a strong design influence in colour and refined detailing.  There’s also a strong influence from natural materials, as well as a respect for craftsmanship—those timeless details that really bring a space to life.
