The brainchild of Aonui Architecture director Richard Wright, Te Whare-iti is a modular housing project with a small footprint and big potential. Prefabricated from CLT panels, and craned on site in a matter of months, these sustainable homes are delighting Kiwis across the North Island.
This porch module functions as an extension to the multi-use module, providing covered outdoor living space.
Decking has been used to extend the living space outdoors, seamlessly connecting with the sunspace module that features a set of bi-folding doors.
Here, the sunspace module functions as a dining space, connected to the side of the services module.
The services module is the heart of Te Whare-iti, containing the kitchen, laundry, and bathroom to centralise all of the required services connections.
In this home, the services module connects with the multi-use module.
Indoor-outdoor flow is created with the connection of the porch module to the multi-use module.
Te Whare-iti homes are always designed to optimise natural light.
The warm, honey colour of the CLT panels creates an inviting palette in the bedroom module.
The bathroom is sleek and functional, with a grounded, earthy palette.
Te Whare-iti homes are designed to be comfortable year-round, with an automatic ventilation system installed to keep temperatures down in summer.
