New Modular Recess Flush Box Keeps Blinds and Curtain Tracks Out of Sight

A Refined, Clean Finish
Windows have become a more prominent feature in kiwi homes as clients look to create a greater connection with the outdoors. This has left us with the problem of how to incorporate window coverings without adding clutter. Window Treatments NZ has developed their Modular Recess Flush Box with this in mind, offering a clean, contemporary solution for keeping blinds out of sight while preserving the original architectural look of the home.
Applications
The Modular Recess Flush Box is designed for high and middle-end residential projects where clients are looking to conceal blinds and curtain tracks and maintain a clean, uncluttered look.
The system allows roller blinds to be neatly concealed inside a recessed cavity at the top of the window when not in use, with a sleek cover ensuring a clean look and leaving only a small slit visible. The system can also accommodate honeycomb pleated blinds, as well as curtains without the use of the cover.
This simple solution is perfect for use with manual or motorised blinds, giving homeowners the ability to drop the blind down when privacy or shade are needed, and to store blinds or curtains in the cavity when not in use, reducing visual clutter.
Key performance benefits:
Creates a clean architectural look
The Modular Recess Flush Box ensures that blinds and curtains do not create clutter. This gives homeowners the opportunity to maximise views to the outdoors and maintain the original architectural look of their home. The system is available in a range of finish options including mill/raw finish, standard black or white powder coat finishes and custom powder coat options to suit each project’s aesthetic.
Modular design to suit different project requirements
The modular design of the system makes it easy to specify on a range of projects, with 12 standard size boxes available in 4.2m lengths, which can accommodate either single or double roller blinds.
The system also gives the option of a flange for end caps to conceal the plasterboard for a neat finish, or where a negative details is preferred or for instances where it isn’t necessary (such as where the recess box is installed against the top of a window), designers can opt for no flange.
Opportunity for custom sizes
While the modular design fits most projects, Window Treatments can also make custom variations to standard sizes. This is particularly useful where there are limitations in the ceiling space which prevent standard boxes from fitting, such as steel beams. The Window Treatments team can work with designers to make a recess box to fit in these non-standard spaces.
Design support
With reps nationwide, the Window Treatments team is available to provide demonstrations of the Modular Recess Flush Box in-practice or on-site. Their CAD details and Masterspec Work Sections are readily available, helping to make specification easy. For any questions, the team is available to help on 0800 36 36 39 or hello@window-treatments.co.nz.
Warranty and maintenance
The Modular Recess Flush Box is made entirely of extruded and folded aluminium sheets, allowing for quick installation and a seamless finish. It is backed by a three year warranty and requires no maintenance. In fact, the recess flush box can actually simplify maintenance of blinds as the bottom cover can be easily removed to allow blinds to be serviced or replaced.
