With warmer weather on the horizon, we are seeing a lift in new home enquiries and lots of customer engagement.
No matter whether your budget is in the first-home buyer range, or at more of an architectural level, a new build allows for well-designed homes to make the most of any season, blending comfort, style and easy access to outdoor living in the summer or a cosy lounge area during winter.
Outdoor spaces are a key feature in new homes, so it’s essential to gather information from a home design perspective from the outset. Often, our first-home buyer customers will leave the rear landscaping until they have settled in and established themselves in their new home. However, we do encourage them to think not only about their new home in the design phase, but also about their backyard as well, to ensure they have room to run about, barbecue or relax in the way they would like.
Good indoor-outdoor flow effectively extends your living space, and there are some smart ways with design that can achieve this. By designing homes with sliding doors that open directly onto patios, you can easily transition from inside to out, making both areas feel more extensive and more useable.
In warmer weather, you can take full advantage of outdoor spaces as an extension of your living room or dining area, providing more room to relax and entertain. But remember, too, that homes designed with good indoor-outdoor flow are also highly sought-after by buyers, making them a great investment for the future. Not only do they provide a better quality of living for you right now, but they enhance the appeal of your home should you decide to sell. The trend of creating connected indoor and outdoor spaces is growing, and buyers appreciate homes with a well-designed layout and access to outdoor areas.
So if you’re considering a new build, make sure you think about creating spaces for staying warm inside during winter, as well as outside for fun times in the sun.
