With a wet and wild first half to 2023, the New Zealand construction industry is hungry for smart and innovative products that help mitigate the weather-induced challenges we constantly face.
The Cemintel® Rigid Air barrier™ is a 6mm, square edged fibre cement panel ready to disrupt the market with its pressure equalised façade system that forms an effective method of weatherproofing buildings.
Sealed using Ceminseal™ embedded micro waterblock technology, the Rigid Air barrier protects against wind and rain, allowing work inside the building prior to cladding installation for up to six months from installation.
Pressure equalised systems consist of a cladding or rain screen installed with a ventilated cavity and form an effective method of weatherproofing buildings. For ventilated cavity system installations where wind loads exceed 1.5kPa, Cemintel® recommends that a Rigid Air Barrier™ be used instead of wall wrap.
Cemintel stands for ‘Cement Intelligence’ and is the CSR brand that is responsible for some of the most progressive and innovative cladding materials in Australia and New Zealand. With design and innovation as our central drivers, Cemintel is focused on a fresh, intuitive approach to cement-based cladding.
Cemintel responds to the preference for high performance, lightweight materials and the desire for buildings to enhance the environment where we live. These ranges are a reinterpretation of cladding as we know it.
Rigid Air Barrier™ is BRANZ appraised for use as a rigid wall underlay and a temporary weather protecting sheathing on timber and steel framed buildings. It can be made to order; minimum order quantities and lead times apply.
