SCA shows off its brand new offices in South Melbourne

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) officially opened its brand new, purpose-built offices at 101 Moray St, South Melbourne, last week.

The event was attended by around 100 people who were escorted in groups on a tour of the new Fox FM, Triple M and LiSTNR studios and the state-of-the-art workspace at SCA.

The new space brings together all the networks values and vision the company sought to achieve – digital transformation, technologically state-of-the-art, a collaborative workspace of the future, and embodying sustainable practices throughout.

It will house world-class facilities featuring no less than 30 broadcast and recording spaces that are purpose-made to resemble TV sets as SCA builds audiences for its premium audio offer using digital video social platforms such as YouTube and TikTok.

LiSTNR’s bespoke podcast recording spaces will deliberately contain no large radio consoles – all audio, visuals and lighting can be controlled from anywhere, offering total connectivity between creators in any office and any location.

SCA has achieved all its sustainability goals its Melbourne office. This includes everything from smart lighting that monitors energy consumption, to lithium batteries with twice the life expectancy of previous technology, and electronic infrastructure re-use and recycling – realising a saving of $3.3 million by relocating SCA’s IT infrastructure and audio equipment.

SCA signed a 10-year lease at the Deague Group’s commercial building in South Melbourne last year.

The network will take up approximately 3,000sqm on the second floor of the commercial building. Their neighbours will include other big names in the media space, including oOh Media and Adobe.

In other exciting news SCA announced earlier this month its agreement with AdsWizz to exclusively represent the ad inventory of select Stitcher and SiriusXM podcasts in Australia through the LiSTNR app and other podcast listening platforms.

AdsWizz’s audio advertising technology, combined with SCA’s media sales, is expected to streamline podcast inventory connections, making Stitcher and SiriusXM’s content more easily accessible to advertisers. Both Stitcher and AdsWizz are subsidiaries of Sirius XM Radio Inc.
