Wrapping up 2022

I’m possibly hitting the ground running a bit early on wrapping up 2022 - it’s only November after all - but I get to this time of the year and start to really muse on what has been over the course of the year and what can I start to put in place to make the next year even better than this one.

This year has been a year of huge growth for me. I’ve had such great clients - each job teaching me something different from the next. On the odd job I’ve even sat there on day one of starting it almost shouting to myself: arghhhhh I can’t do it, it’s way too out of my comfort zone! But after paring it back and walking slowly through the steps I’ve found that I’ve got there and have been able to present something that ultimately the client has taken on. I find it a fantastic feeling.

As always, my business is a metaphor for my life. When I started kd interiors a few years ago it was time for me, after a few years of digging deep, to push myself out there so that I could learn and grow. And to indulge myself in a creative pursuit that would absolutely fill my soul. And it does - right down to my toes.

I’ve got some great things in the pipeline for 2023 - more study for one, some exciting client jobs in the pipeline and a few of our own personal pursuits to put an interior design spin on. That doesn’t sound like too much… but when you throw in a husband with a full-on construction business, three busy teenage boys (drop-offs all over Hawke’s Bay) and a German Shepherd, as well as a great bunch of friends and family, life will undoubtedly be full of beans!
