The shade solutions by Umbrosa are a clear statement by both elegance and understated simplicity, and that in combination with a never seen way of ergonomics that puts ‘easy to use’ to a higher dimension.

Umbrosa is a testament to quality. They create unique designs that elegantly fit into a wide range of environments. Based out of Belgium, Umbrosa works with internationally renowned designers to create unique outdoor umbrellas.

The Umbrosa story

Umbrosa is operated by Christophe Haemers and Peter Leleu. Christophe brings experienced business acumen to the team whilst Peter has an eye for design.

“As a restauranteur, Peter Leleu, was frustrated about continually having to replace his umbrellas in his Belgium cafe. In 1999, he created Paraflex – an innovative, stylish design with a flexible arm.”

During the past 20 years, Umbrosa have gone from strength to strength. Now, it has a range of different umbrellas to suit various environments.

Here at Design Concepts, we love how Umbrosa places significant emphasis on creating innovative designs. To breathe life into their ideas, they engage top designers that have an eye for style and a track record of success.

The key designers that are responsible for Umbrosa’s unique works include:

  • Bundl – based out of Antwerp, this team has worked with some of the worlds largest companies to create inspiring products and companies.
  • NG Design – founded by architects Nicolas Verraver and Gauthier Desplanque, these Belgian architects-come-designers breathe life into their designs with a love for everything that combines beauty and function.
  • Dirk Wynants – for Dirk, contemporary design is more than a matter of trendy or attractive objects. Design is about innovative solutions that contribute to making a better world.

 

  • Tore Bleuzé – operating under the name Obi-One, Tore is an industrial designer with an open mind for different ideas. He operates in a range of sectors, bringing a different perspective to the design process.

    Pieter Willemyns – responsible for the design and product development at Umbrosa, Pieter aspires to make shade like nobody has ever done before.
  • Peter Leleu – the mastermind behind Umbrosa, Peter has been a cornerstone of the team from day one. He is now the sales manager for Umbrosa.

By working in a small, tight-knit team, Umbrosa is able to operate in a nimble manner without sacrificing attention to detail.

Parasol (noun): a light umbrella used to give shade from the sun

Umbrosa products are made from only the best components such as anodized aluminium, UV-resistant materials and top quality fabric. As a result, you can rest easy knowing that your Umbrosa will perform for many years to come.
