A great pair of wall sconces by the Austrian architect and designer Oswald Haerdtl for Lobmeyr from the 1950's. The sconces are embellished with glass flowers and striking amber leaves, each with a bow wrapped around two arms branching off either side, with candle effects. They are equipped with hanging hooks at the top for easy hanging and new back plates have been added for secure fixing to the wall. They have been re wired to NZ standards.

He is best known for his early expressions of modernist design, especially those that contributed to Vienna's famous Kaffeehaus culture, as well as for his collaborations with iconic Austrian architect Josef Hoffmann.His designs were chosen to represent Austria in the world fairs in Brussels in 1935 and in Paris in 1937.
