A pair of striking mid-century wall sconces (1950/60's) which we believe to be attributed to the internationally known Parisian design house 'Maison Baguès' (unmarked). Each opposing sconce consists of a cut crystal urn at the base branching up into a gilt iron flower atop, flanked with a foil backed foliate branch either side for candle effects. (Note: One sconce has a bead missing). Price is for the pair. Fully rewired to NZ standards with new backplate for wall fixing and painted candle sleeves.
Since the 1860s, the renowned French luxury lighting atelier Maison Baguès has been producing pieces that are highly valued across the world. Each piece is hand assembled, using traditional techniques. Iron and bronze are shaped according to traditional techniques. Chandeliers, lamps and wall sconces are leaf gilt gold or silver leaf, and the crystals are hand assembled. Maison Baguès is mostly known for their Louis XIV & Empire style lighting, Parrot & Foliage chandeliers with glass beads and wall sconces.
