Inspired by the time worn charm of provincial antique furniture and artifacts, Crackle Medium marks any painted surface with the gentle hand of age.
Porter's Crackle Medium is an easy to use medium for creating antique and decorative crackle effects on furniture, walls, picture frames and other decorative elements. Apply Crackle Medium to a previously painted surface, then, after a time, apply an acrylic paint (either Porter’s Ultra Flat, Eggshell or Low Sheen Acrylics). As this finish coat dries, the Crackle Medium beneath causes the paint to split and crack, revealing the base coat or surface beneath.
Porter’s Crackle Medium is a clear medium that is designed for use in conjunction with other paints and finishes. The cracks will dry with a glossy finish. Water wash up. Apply by brush.
Can be applied to most suitably prepared timber, MDF, plasterboard, plaster, wood, and previously painted trim items and articles.
Approximately 10m² per litre.
Available in 500ml and 1 litre
Crafting colour and texture in hand-made paints, wallpapers and timber flooring for 35 years.
Porter’s Paints history starts in 1982, when Sydney house painter Peter Lewis began making traditional lime washes in a small garage in Randwick, after having discovered old paint recipes in his grandfather Fred Porter's diaries.
Fred Porter was a builder, and it was during his European travels that he collected details of building techniques and paint finishes.
It was shortly after his death that Peter discovered the diaries, found the recipes for traditional paints and decided to produce improved versions.
Porter’s Paints is now sold around the world from New Zealand to L.A. Offering specialty finishes with a depth of colour and texture, Porter’s Paints offers unrivalled finishes for your project.
