There are a number of things to consider when choosing a Flat Panel sectional door and the most important is steel thickness and production method. 

Steel flat panel sectional doors can be made in one of two ways – Roll-formed or Folded. 

  • Roll-formed sectional doors (Dominator Valero) are manufactured from thinner gauge steel and so are more economically priced, however they are prone to imperfections in their flatness just by their very nature of construction. 
  • Flat-Folded steel sectional doors are a premium product made from thicker gauge steel (Dominator Sierra & Nevada). The heavier gauge steel and folding technique ensures a superior flat finish that lives up to the old adage, you get what you pay for. 

Both of these styles of doors can be factory insulated to allow you to make better use of your garage space all year round.
