Tested with pro clima’s market-leading ADHERO® WRBs, this system includes a layer of continuous external ROCKWOOL™ Rainscreen™ insulation for superior thermal resistance. The FORTX™ MELIOR system works perfectly with applications ranging from low-rise buildings to mid-and high-rise constructions across all building classes.

Scope of use

The pro clima FORTX™ MELIOR system is a weathertight façade solution suitable for use with any cladding type and any class of building.

It comprises SOLITEX EXTASANA ADHERO® or SOLITEX® ADHERO FC combined with TESCON EXTOSEAL®, TESCON® NAIDECK, TFLEX flexible control joint material as well as ROCKWOOL External insulation.

FORTX™ MELIOR builds on the proven FORTX™ system by incorporating a non-combustible, hydrophobic layer of continuous external ROCKWOOL™ Rainscreen™ insulation, enhancing thermal performance, improving moisture management, and delivering the highest standard of façade safety and efficiency. 

FORTX™ MELIOR is a stand-alone solution for weather and thermal protection. 

Where in-wall insulation is used inside the FORTX™ MELIOR system, incorporating INTELLO® PLUS provides the ultimate solution for airtightness, vapour control and healthy buildings.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

  • B1 Structure: B1.2 — Buildings, building elements, and site work shall withstand the combination of loads that they are likely to experience during construction or alteration and throughout their lives. Relevant sections: B1.3.2 and B 1.3.3 a), b), f), h), m)
  • B2 Durability: B2.2 — DurabilityBuilding materials, components, and construction methods shall be sufficiently durable to ensure that the building, without reconstruction or major renovation, satisfies the other functional requirements of this code throughout the life of the building. Relevant sections: B2.3.1 a), b), c) and B2.3.2 a), b)
  • C3 Fire: C3.2 — Buildings with a building height greater than 10 m where upper floors contain sleeping uses or other property must be designed and constructed so that there is a low probability of external vertical fire spread to upper floors in the building. Relevant sections: C3.5 and C3.7
  • E2 External Moisture: E2.2 — Buildings must be constructed to provide adequate resistance to penetration by, and the accumulation of, moisture from the outside. Relevant sections: E2.3.2, E2.3.5, E2.3.6, E2.3.7
  • E3 Internal Moisture: E3.2 — Buildings must be constructed to avoid the likelihood ofa) fungal growth or the accumulation of contaminants on linings and other building elements; and
    b) free water overflow penetrating to an adjoining household unit; and
    c) damage to building elements caused by the presence of moisture. Relevant sections: E3.3.1
  • H1 Energy Efficiency: H1.2 — Buildings must be constructed to achieve an adequate degree of energy efficiency when that energy is used fora) modifying temperature, modifying humidity, providing ventilation, or doing all or any of those things (does not apply to assembly service buildings, industrial buildings, outbuildings, or ancillary buildings);
    or b) providing hot water to and from sanitary fixtures or sanitary appliances, or both;
    or c) providing artificial lighting (applies only to commercial buildings and communal non-residential buildings whose floor area is greater than 300m²) **H1 is reviewed in consideration of the external envelope. Relevant sections: H1.3.1 and H1.3.3

  • AS/NZS 4284 tested without cladding to comply with E2/VM1. Weathertight for all cladding types.

  • Serviceability Limit State (SLS): 3.5 kPa
  • Ultimate Limit State (ULS): 5.5 kPa
  • Seismic Deflection Performance: ±20 mm (SLS) and ±75 mm (ULS)
