As per NZBC The Building-wrap requires to be restrained from bulging into a drained cavity where stud spacings are greater than 450 mm. This to prevent the building wrap and insulation from protruding into the drained cavity. Acceptable means of achieving this are by using strapping at 300mm centers fixed horizontally and drawn taut.
