Rosenfeld Kidson stock more than 30 species of specialist timbers suitable for furniture manufacture, cabinetmaking and interior joinery. Whatever your project, we can offer the right species from our wide selection.
Most of the joinery, furniture and cabinet making timber species we stock are available in 25, 40, 50 and 75mm thicknesses. Timbers such as American White Oak and Radiata are also available in a range of grades at lower prices, making them suitable for defecting for furniture manufacture.
American hardwoods such as Oak, Ash, Maple, Cherry and Walnut are generally only available in mixed width specifications; as are the African hardwoods such as Sapele, Iroko, Anegre, Bubinga and European beech.
Our Australian hardwoods such as Jarrah (PEFC), Tasmanian Oak and Victorian Ash (PEFC) are all available in fixed widths. This also applies to our native timbers Rimu, Matai, Tawa; the Fijian timbers, Kauri and Salusalu; and most other furniture and joinery timbers such as Kwila (VLO), Massa, Malaysian Kauri (PEFC), Taun and Teak.

Rosenfeld Kidson, as timber merchants acknowledge the importance of conserving the world’s greatest renewable resource.
We are pleased to advise that we carry Chain-of-Custody (CoC) certification that enables us to sell timber that carries either FSC certification (SGS-COC-006703) or PEFC certification (SGS-PEFC/COC-0993).
FSC-certified timber and PEFC-certified timber undergo independent, third-party audited certification procedures at every step of the supply chain. This provides designers, specifiers, architects and consumers absolute assurance that those forest and wood products labelled as FSC certified or PEFC certified to originate from legal sources, which are managed to prescribed social, economic and environmental standards.
As a New Zealand timber supplier offering the country’s largest range and quantity of specialist certified timbers we believe that stocking FSC & PEFC certified timber is essential for our continued growth. A major part of our timber range has FSC or PEFC certification and we are continually striving to increase this.
For four generations, the inherent qualities and creative potential provided by timber have inspired us and driven innovation at RK Timbers.
If you need proof that the inventive spirit of Kiwis is alive and thriving, you only need to look at the way timber is being used to create spectacular spaces and objects throughout the country. We’re enormously proud to be involved with many of New Zealand’s finest builds, helping architects, designers, artisans and owners take their concepts from paper to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
