Collett-Zarzycki, a respected London architecture practice, and Joseph Giles, leading designers and manufacturers of luxury architectural hardware, have partnered to create a stunning range of marble door and cabinet furniture for super prime developments.
The finest Italian marbles including Black & Gold Portoro, White Onyx, Green Guatemala and Red Laguna provide the jewel-like finishing touches for the ultimate in luxury design schemes. The range includes a door pull, a lever handle and cabinet pulls. All pieces have a cylindrical marble shaft, with minimalistic metal fixtures to ensure the marble remains the focal point.
As champions of classic contemporary style, Collett-Zarzycki delved into carefully curated design references for inspiration, including the beautiful opulence of the 1930s. The design team envisioned a hardware collection which would not be out of place in the buildings of the pioneer architects/designers of the period, such as Jose Plecnik and Adolf Loos.
Joseph Giles embraced this design ideal and the challenge of bringing their vision to life. This was particularly difficult as marble is a delicate material to work with both for shaping and finishing, but also when used in the finished form.
Anthony Collett of Collet-Zarzycki reflects, “When we had the idea for a classical contemporary collection of ironmongery, our first thought was to call upon the expertise of Joseph Giles, specialists in creating superlative furniture hardware and a long-standing co-collaborator in countless Collett-Zarzycki projects. We are united by a progressive, flexible and innovative approach, respecting tradition and craftsmanship as well as reflecting contemporary attitudes.”
Joseph Giles concurs, commenting, “Joseph Giles has a long-standing relationship with Collett-Zarzycki which began some 15 years ago when they first specified us for a project. The handle for these products had been designed originally for glass. Using marble was a first for us, it’s taken the finished product to a new level of luxury. It’s one of the finest products we have ever made. We very much enjoy working with the visionary designers at Collett-Zarzycki and look forward to the next project”.
