Baran de Bordeaux

Hand-painted wallpaper. Charvet colourway on scenic paper.

Les Sauvages de la Mer Pacifique is a reproduction of a mural of the same name designed by Jean-Gabriel Charvet for Dufour, Macon.  The mural, also known as Les Voyages du Capitaine Cook was first published in 1804 and exhibited at the 1806 Paris Industrial Exposition barely 30 years after Captain James Cook’s first around the world voyage and set new standards in attention to detail as noted by the exposition jury at the time.
