Mario Romano Walls
Manufactured into large panels and fixed directly with silicone to a substrate for quick installation. Each panel is guided to sit beside adjoining pieces with the clever puzzle-like connection. Grouting is not required; joins are inconspicuously nestled within the pattern for a tight connection.

Mario Romano Fins
Adding another dimension for wall cladding, Mario Romano in Fins allow for the selected design to be created into long linear panels that are mechanically fixed in place. Each panel with its distinctive design sits above the preceding panel with a small overlap. Flowing across the wall and connecting panel to panel Fins offer another element to apply 3-dimensional design to.

Designs are carved directly in Staron using a CNC router, Mario Romano designs are routed using either a V-cutter for a deeper texture or a B-cutter for a shallower texture.

Mario Romano is an innovative designer and builder based in Santa Monica specialising in digital fabrication, architecture and construction. Mario has designed and built over 50 million dollars worth of high-end luxury homes.

Spending time within the design sector, Mario has been able to learn about, and understand many products and how they can be utilised within the design process.

With a passion and drive for creativity and an understanding of the parameters of Solid Surface, Mario Romano brings walls to life. The outcome is both a visual and tactile experience that in addition delivers practicality. An artistic talent and knowledge of product capabilities has seen the inception of Mario Romano Walls, winning Mario a BIMSMITH Best Award from KBIS 2019.

Production

Manufactured locally, Mario Romano Walls is created by an innovative process; streamlining concept to creation for projects. Involving the latest in parametric computing and CNC machining technology, intricate detail and texture is carved into Staron Solid Surface. Selected designs are documented for a bespoke outcome for each application in addition fully customised designs are easily created. Mario Romano Walls is a three dimensional visual and tactile design that offers unlimited scale and non-repeating designs.

Joining System

Interconnecting to create the finished design; like a puzzle, each piece connects and joins are concealed within the detail. The patented joining systems simplifies the installation process, in addition no painting, sanding or grout is required. Mario Romano Walls documentation and joining system assist to achieve a trouble free design process and quick turnaround for projects.

Installation

Mario Romano Walls can be directly siliconed to ply or plasterboard, some applications may require mechanical fixing. CNC machining technology also allows for the inclusion of incorporating cut-outs and other design requirements for power outlets and additional detail.

For backlighting effects, a lightbox can be created and installation achieved with ease.

Due to the thermoformability of Staron Solid Surface curved walls are also available.
