Oil on canvas portrait of a male c.1930 by Dutch painter Jean Laudy (1877 - 1956). Signed to the rear.
Jean Laudy, son of a sculptor, was born in 1877. Laudy attended art academies in Antwerp and Brussels. His work, influenced by Impressionism, mainly includes still lifes, landscapes and portraits, including portraits of the Belgian royal family. The 'Jean Laudy Museum Chapel' is named after him in his Dutch birthplace, Venlo.
