Pleached Screen trees provide screening and structure at height while keeping clear space below. Because the foliage is trained on a narrow frame, they can also provide screening without taking up the width of a conventional hedge or tree canopy.

Each tree is trained with foliage above a clear stem, creating an elevated screen rather than a hedge that is foliaged from the ground up. This makes Pleached Screen useful where you want privacy or screening without closing off the lower part of the landscape.

Supplied as individual trees designed to be installed at one-metre centres, the framed foliage is positioned to form a continuous screen as the trees are placed together. Pleached Screens are supplied at approximately 2.2 m overall height, with around 1.3 m of clear stem below the foliage.

They can be used along boundaries, beside outdoor living areas, around courtyards or wherever screening is needed above fences, walls or lower planting.

Scope of use

Residential, commercial and public landscapes. Suitable for boundaries, courtyards, outdoor living areas and other locations where screening is needed at height or where space is limited. Selected varieties are also suitable for use in appropriately sized containers.
