The Philips Dynalite RS-485/DMX512 Gateway is designed to enable seamless communication between RS-485 networks and third-party systems such as audio-visual, Modbus meters, and building automation systems. The gateway features two opto-isolated RS-485 ports, allowing for the creation of trunk and spur topologies on large-scale projects. This setup provides a high-speed backbone that is opto-coupled to multiple lower-speed spurs, making it ideal for complex building control and energy management applications.
In addition to its RS-485 functionality, the RS-485/DMX512 Gateway supports DMX512, transmitting or receiving up to 512 DMX channels with automatic DyNet conversion and task triggering. This feature is particularly useful in scenarios where house lighting requires temporary control from a DMX console, such as in theatres and auditoriums.
The RS-485/DMX512 Gateway also includes electrical fault isolation, which isolates faults to individual network spurs, minimising disruptions and maintaining network reliability. The device is equipped with a programmable logic controller (PLC), capable of processing complex logic, including conditional and sequential operations, packet filtering, and DyNet to DyNet 2 translation.
The RS-485/DMX512 Gateway is DIN rail mountable, allowing for easy installation into distribution boards or other electrical enclosures, making it a flexible solution for large-scale building automation and network control systems.
