Circular bulbs

If there is an electrical ballast in the bulb, it creates a pleasant warm light. They are also great for creating a traditional white fluorescent light.

Choosing the right CFL 

It is vital to review the factors that go into choosing the right kind of lighting. Consider factors such as light output (LUMENS), size, shape, base types, and color rendering, which are all important. 

Homeowners can purchase the least amount of CFLs at a time to replace the most used ones in their homes. A few other points to consider are:

• Only the marked bulbs with the ‘dimmable’ option work with the dimmer switches.

• Only the CFL lamp marked ‘3-way’ can work with the standard 3’-way switches.

• It is highly possible for many types of photocells and electric timers to not work with the CFL compact fluorescent lamp.

Aesthetic Choices

Spiral bulbs are best suited for the compact fluorescent lamp, especially when it is meant to be covered from view. For exposed, recessed or vanity lighting, choosing globe and A-shaped bulbs can be great for the general décor because of their globular aura. The colour of the light should be chosen keeping ambiance and functionality in mind. For general lighting, warmer shades work well while whiter tones are best suited for task purposes.
