LED Light Bulbs
Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are small, solid light bulbs that operate differently than traditional incandescent light bulbs. They are referred to as Solid State Lighting (SSL). They are made of solid material that does not contain breakable filaments or tubes.
Different Types
Bayonet (B22)
B22 bulbs come in the classic bayonet base. This features two ‘mounts’ on either side of the bulb. The led bulbs use 5.5 watts. That is an output of 470 lumens and these also reduce energy consumption by up to 90%.
Edison Screw (E27)
The E27 bulb, also referred to as the Edison bulb has a big screw socket (27 millimeters). Bulbs with an E27-socket will always have the same base but the shape of the bulb may differ. E27 bulb is available in different colour temperatures. These range from low a colour temperature (warm red glowing light) to a high colour temperature (cold blue light).
E14 Light Bulb
This screw is identical to the e27 and is referred to as the small Edison Screw. The only difference is its diameter size(14mm). An E14 light bulb is normally used for decorative or purely practical purposes.
