LED Light Bulbs
- LED light bulbs are the latest technology in the lighting industry. Durable and energy-efficient; they come in various forms from e27 Bulbs to Dimmable Led Bulbs. These eco-friendly bulbs are increasingly popular and for good reason. A LED bulb has been known to last several years. With Archipro, you’ll get a vast selection of LED light bulbs to choose from.LED Light Bulbs
Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are small, solid light bulbs that operate differently than traditional incandescent light bulbs. They are referred to as Solid State Lighting (SSL). They are made of solid material that does not contain breakable filaments or tubes.
Different Types
Bayonet (B22)
B22 bulbs come in the classic bayonet base. This features two ‘mounts’ on either side of the bulb. The led bulbs use 5.5 watts. That is an output of 470 lumens and these also reduce energy consumption by up to 90%.
Edison Screw (E27)
The E27 bulb, also referred to as the Edison bulb has a big screw socket (27 millimeters). Bulbs with an E27-socket will always have the same base but the shape of the bulb may differ. E27 bulb is available in different colour temperatures. These range from low a colour temperature (warm red glowing light) to a high colour temperature (cold blue light).
E14 Light Bulb
This screw is identical to the e27 and is referred to as the small Edison Screw. The only difference is its diameter size(14mm). An E14 light bulb is normally used for decorative or purely practical purposes.
R-Series Reflector Bulbs
These are used as floodlights and downlights. They are identified according to the size of the bulb’s diameter in millimeters. R-type bulbs typically eliminate glare and diffuse light through their smooth, frosted face.
PAR-Series Security Lights
Ideal for commercial place lighting. These led lamps produce plenty of brightness and are screw fitting. They may be used for workshops, security, and public places.
MR16 and GU10 Spotlights
These are mostly used for security lighting. The bulbs are extremely durable and deliver reliable lighting in indoor or outdoor applications.
Dimmable Led Bulbs
Led lamps or bulbs are dimmable and non-dimmable. Dimmable LEDs have the power to change the mood of any space. Dimmable bulbs are used in non-dimmable circuits. To avoid electric faults ensure the correct type is used all the time.
Uses for LED Bulbs
They can be placed anywhere. From indoor living room chandeliers to outdoor lighting landscape areas. They provide beautiful illumination in just about any space. They are a great option for:
- reading lamps
- cover lighting
- under cabinet lighting
- stair and walkway lighting
- recessed lighting
- art lighting
Unlike incandescent and fluorescents, LEDs don’t produce UV radiation, making them safe for artwork.
How to Pick the Right Light
Several types of LED bulbs exist for different lighting tasks. The following are a few things to consider prior to purchase.
Type and Size of Space
Residential spaces can be lit easily using LED bulbs. Industrial and commercial spaces need more light so they require LED strips lights and panels to make sure they are well lit. Light panels take more space to install.
Mounted or installed on a wall lights, light panels are suitable for larger rooms and spaces. LED light bulbs can be conveniently installed on fixtures and lamps.
Correlated Color Temperature (CCT)
The right colour temperature can be handpicked to light up the room. CCT information indicates the warmness or coolness of LED lights. It is measured in Kelvins (K). Cool white light has a higher Kelvin rating while Warm white light has a lower Kelvin rating.
Energy Rating
The energy rating for each light tube led is measured in Watts (W). They consume considerably less energy than traditional sources of light. Wattage information is important to see whether a LED light is compatible with a power source or not.
Design Factors
LED lights are available in all kinds of shapes and sizes. It is possible to design bespoke shapes and get creative with lighting projects. This is a definite benefit for those with an eye for aesthetics.
Installation
The compatibility of the structures where the lights will be installed is a factor. LED lamps or bulbs don’t require much effort in installing. Rigid or flexible panels require mounting on a stand and connection to a power source to work. These may require a mount on the wall or any other surface.
Benefits of Led Lighting
- Energy efficient
- Long Life span
- No warm-up period (light up instantly)
- Not affected by cold temperatures
- Directional light
- Excellent Color Rendering
- Environmentally friendly (do not contain hazardous substances)
- Controllable( brightness and color can be controlled)
