From the first meeting I had with Wayne, we were on the same page. We talked about how I wanted the home to feel, more that how I wanted it to look; we discussed the non-negoatiables and the pipe-dreams. When the designs came through, he had delivered it all. I think we were all so surprised at the lack of changes I had - it really was a dream partnership.

My brief was that I wanted to bring the outside in; to see the lake and the gardens all through the house, but to still have private spaces to enjoy. My non-negotiables were a private courtyard, the master at the rear of the property, and for a view from the bathtub! And I got so much more than that. From the beauty of the staircase; to the detailed cabinetry with storage galore; to the white brickwork and the exposed beams in the living room. I even got my pipe-dream - a dog bath for my miniature schnauzer, Alby. I think this detail excited everyone! This design was all my dreams come true.

When Lauren, Habitat’s Architectural Graduate, joined the project, my experience only got better. Very quickly we found we very much shared the same vision for all the details.
As I was starting this project as a single woman with no building experience, Lauren was able to help me make lots of design decisions and I really trusted her advice. She was just as invested in making this my dream home as I was.

Wayne and Lauren were with me through the whole project, helping me with everything from selecting lights and tiles to decisions on landscape design when we neared the end. And they have given me the most beautiful home. I sit on the deck in the mornings looking out at the lake, or in the evenings on the bench seat in the master and I pinch myself; I now live in my forever home and it is spectacular.
