The team from LOCA took our brief and budget and designed a light-filled, inviting home for us.  In particular we appreciate the sculptural form of the house and how well it nestles in to the end of the ridge line.   
Kudos to Ana for the bold choice in the brilliant exterior paint colours which light up the neighbourhood at night.
Tim provided timely and skilled solutions during the build when invariably changes were required.  We were impressed with his ability to sketch details with a pencil and paper in the northerly gales that a builder could easily understand.
Ben was fantastic at helping with the joinery details and the lighting including sourcing both new and vintage lights.
It was a pleasure to work with them and we were impressed with how they responded to our suggestions along the way. 

We engaged Lo’ca in March 2016 to redesign our villa in Mt Victoria, Wellington.
Our initial contact was with Tim Lovell and when the design phase began he was joined by Kate Hartford.
The brief was to completely modernize the house which included replacing the existing kitchen and redesigning the upstairs area to create a larger master bedroom.
We cannot speak highly enough of our experience in dealing with Lo’ca Architects. Their initial design work was completed in a timely manner, they consulted with us regularly and we were very pleased with the proposal.
They then conducted the process of tendering the project, appointing a builder, and completing the regulatory formalities.
Once the building began they managed the project on our behalf in a professional and timely manner. Completion was on time and within budget.
We are delighted with the outcome and would have no hesitation in recommending Lo’Ca.

In the past we have worked with a number of other architects, in the build of a new house and in two significant sets of alterations of an existing house.  LOCA’s way of working saw them outperform the others we have used – they listened better, worked harder to solve problems to our satisfaction, were always open to thinking outside the square, and took on board a great deal of input from us. We really enjoyed working with them.

We really enjoyed working with Ana and Tim on the exciting renovation and improvement of our Wellington home. Ana had some great ideas to add to our own and brought both a practical and creative angle to the project. We are busy people and she was very patient with us as we took our time to make decisions! It was exciting to watch the plans come to life and throughout the process we felt extremely confident in Ana's management of the project and the building firm. When Ana went on maternity leave the transition to Tim was seamless. We are delighted with the results and can truly say that the renovation has transformed our living experience in our home and has delivered all the benefits we hoped for

We engaged the services of LO'CA to assist us with the renovation of our first home; a 1920's house with seriously un-level floors and a makeover from the 70's. We chose them because we felt they understood our brief, seemed practical in their approach (...and were highly recommended when we asked around). From the beginning the process was clear - they gave us a service proposal which was basically a checklist of the steps to be done and who would do what. We asked lots of questions as we had never renovated a house before. Ana and Tim were prompt at answering our queries and had invaluable information to offer us. We were impressed with the concept designs. We felt our selected concept design was achievable given our budget. They did a thorough job and we have confidence in the layout and spaces. We were thrilled to do a virtual tour of the proposed design – it gave us a great insight as to what our home would be and was much easier for us to visualise than a floor plan. Although we haven't completed the project (Rome wasn't built in a day!) we are certain the LO’CA design will achieve the result we desire.

It is a very clever house designed with a great deal of thought.  Our friends continue to notice  aspects of the design which appeal to them.
The house, as well as being stylish, is very comfortable to live in and easy to keep tidy, with heaps of storage space. 
Our grandchildren love it - to them it is an exciting playground with several hidden cupboards, the stairs' landing is their stage and they spend a lot of time in their magical bunk room. 
At first glance the house appears deceptively uncomplicated – beautifully simple, and simply beautiful!

We were newbies with house alterations and were apprehensive about the process.  We’re happy to say that working with Lo’Ca on the renovation of our living area was a great experience for us. 
There were a number of complications (as there always are!) and Lo’Ca were helpful at every step, recommending a way forward for each problem. 
Tim, Ana and Kate came up with a design that we loved and were fantastic at communicating throughout the project.  We felt that they got the balance of gentle nagging about critical decisions right and kept us up to date with progress. 
We were very impressed with the builder that they recommended and the project came in under budget. 
Our house has been transformed by the renovation as it now has a wonderful, practical and beautiful living area which makes our home a place we don’t want to leave.  Thank you Lo’Ca!
