MAUD is an Architecture and Urban Design practice based in Auckland.

Our work ranges from bespoke residential projects, to work space and hospitality fit outs, to masterplanning and the preparation of design guidelines.

We are interested in creating modern, considered spaces with a sense of ease and liveability. We think a lot about how our clients want to live or work day to day, and seek to design spaces that are tailored to these patterns. Our projects are informed by context and climate to enhance a sense of connection to place and people. We delight in finding elegant solutions to complex issues. Creative thinking, attention to detail and functional performance are the basis for everything we do.

At MAUD, we are committed to providing excellent service to our clients and have a broad range of skills that can manage your project from first inception to the completion of the construction process.

MAUD is a New Zealand Institute of Architects practice member.

Natasha Markham | Director

Registered Architect, ANZIA, BAS, BArch [Hons], MUrbDes [Hons]

Natasha Markham established her practice MAUD (Markham Architecture + Urban Design) in 2015 to integrate her interests in architecture and urban design and offer a range of design services across those fields. Natasha's architectural experience includes a variety of different projects from interior fit outs, to resorts, to listed heritage buildings, but housing has remained a particular interest.

Her residential background includes bespoke houses, apartments, as well as large scale housing development which she worked on while in the UK. Natasha has also worked as an urban designer for both local government and the private sector.

She is skilled in urban analysis, masterplanning, and the preparation of guidance documents, and has also been involved in high level, strategic planning and visioning projects, at a city-wide scale.

Natasha is a current member of both the Auckland Urban Design Panel and the Hobsonville Design Review Panel. In her spare time, Natasha co-hosts New Zealand's best (by virtue of being the only) architecture podcast, 76 Small Rooms.
