Our process is built around creating personal architecture. Once we understand your brief, we move into design, testing every space in digital modelling and VR so we can tuning the interior design and you can experience it before it's built - something particularly valuable for clients designing their New Zealand home from the other side of the world. From there, we move into documentation and hands-on guidance right through construction. We bring extensive experience to both home renovations and new builds, from heritage villas to coastal and alpine sites.

Sustainability is a core part of how we design, not an add-on applied at the end. We treat a home's carbon impact as a design decision from the concept design — weighing the full life-cycle impact of every project over a hundred years, not just the day it's finished. We carry out carbon modelling throughout the process, design with passive strategies in mind and design for durability. To us, responsible design and good design are inseparable.

Our work has received award recognition every year since our opening in 2015, now totaling over 50 design and architecture awards. Most notably, Waimataruru and Crinkle Cut have both won NZIA National Architecture Awards, while Lava Flow and Waka Huia took out the Dulux Colour Awards New Zealand Grand Prix in consecutive years. We have been widely awarded by the New Zealand Insitute of Architects, Designers Institute of New Zealand, Good Design Australia and have won Here Magazine’s Best House Aotearoa.
