Learn about Paint & Wall Covering Professionals

Working with paint and wall covering professionals on a New Zealand renovation can help resolve how new finishes meet retained surfaces, such as timber joinery or an existing plaster wall. Paints vary in sheen and washability; the choice affects both reflected light and routine cleaning. Wall covering suppliers can explain how a material’s texture and pattern repeat will read across a full wall, where a small swatch gives only part of the picture.

Paint & Wall Covering Professionals

Compare companies listed under Paint & Wall Covering Professionals by separating the supply of materials from application or installation. A written scope should identify who assesses the existing surface and who carries out any repairs before finishing begins. Some wall covering suppliers provide materials without fitting them, so confirm that responsibility before agreeing the programme.

How should I assess a paint colour before committing?

Test the shortlisted colour on a sizeable sample board and view it against the flooring and joinery. Move the board around the room to see how daylight and evening lighting affect it.

How much wallpaper will a room need?

Give the supplier wall dimensions and the position of doors and windows. Ask them to allow for the pattern repeat and trimming rather than calculating rolls from wall area alone.

Can painting be carried out while a home is occupied?

Agree which rooms will be out of use and how furniture will be protected before work starts. Check ventilation requirements and drying times with the painter so access can be planned.
