Amesbury School Project
Located in Churton Park, the Amesbury School project, originally built in 2012, was undertaken by Holmes Construction as the Main Contractor in 2020. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, we successfully delivered a new standalone two-level classroom block to our client, the Ministry of Education, in 2023.
This project involved extensive site works, including stormwater and drainage installation prior to construction. The new building features a two-storey steel and concrete structure with a detailed Rooflogic Ultra Threm MSR roof system. Inside, the building boasts new classrooms, feature walls, three stairways, a lift, sound rating music room, gender-neutral toilets on both levels, an interior climbing wall, and a new arts facility. The innovative design includes a wood plastic Eco floating deck on the upper floor and precast exterior stairs leading to a landscaped exterior. Safety and functionality were key considerations, with features like underfloor heating, glass balustrading, and a control area visible but secure for student viewing.
