By Rebecca Walker Architect
Residential renovation instigated by the need to acoustically separate the two living spaces in the house, but still allowing for light and visual connection. Bedrooms and office spaces were adjusted to suit. New stairs and balustrades were added, as well as fine steel joinery with acoustic glass and seals. The clients say it’s very successful in terms of noise transmission and aesthetics - which is great to hear!
I think of architecture not as a single practice, but as a series of experiences. With an emphasis on connection to outdoor spaces, as well as careful curation of the indoor experience, I aim to improve the life of the occupants.
Consideration of budget and the overall process are key to my practice.
I can help with everything from master planning down to furniture selection, with all aspects of the building process in between.
I am an architect practicing in Auckland, but will undertake projects anywhere in New Zealand and beyond.
