It is rare to get the opportunity to turn a tennis court into a garden, but we were lucky enough to get that chance. This property in Balwyn on a steep sloping block has a tennis court that sits unused. The house overlooks the court so there was great potential to create a beautiful space to look at, and spend time in.
A new pool runs down the side of the house with new steps connecting the pool terrace and the new garden. A large lawn is wrapped in mixed perennial plants creating a spectacular sight in Spring through to late Autumn. A new pergola encloses a lounge area next to the outdoor fireplace and connects to the renovated under house area, complete with kitchenette and indoor lounge. A workshop sits behind a produce area and espaliered fruit trees provide food while creating separation of each area.
