At the Bank of China, GreenAir conceived and delivered a living green wall as a central spatial element - designed not as decoration, but as an integrated architectural intervention. The installation introduces a layered natural texture that softens the built environment while creating a dynamic focal point within the interior.

The system is engineered to operate as a self-contained living infrastructure. A discreet submersible pump collects water at the base of the wall and recirculates it through the planting multiple times daily, eliminating the need for additional building services while ensuring efficient, low-waste performance. This approach enables the green wall to function as both a design feature and a sustainable environmental system.

Through the careful composition of planting and form, the wall brings vibrancy, biodiversity and a continuous connection to nature into the workplace. The result is a refined biophilic installation that enhances spatial quality, supports occupant wellbeing and reinforces the project’s broader architectural intent.

Recirculating Irrigation System

This living installation is built with a fully automated, recirculating irrigation system.

Unlike traditional systems that rely on constant freshwater input and produce excess runoff, a recirculating system works within a closed loop. Water flows through the plants, collects in a reservoir, is filtered, and reused - ensuring minimal waste and maximum efficiency.

It’s a system that mirrors the resilience of natural ecosystems. For cities aiming to integrate more green infrastructure, embracing such water-wise technologies is a step toward truly sustainable urban living.

Our expert technicians service the wall every two weeks, ensuring each plant thrives. The recirculating system keeps water usage efficient, supporting GreenAir’s mission of integrating nature into cities - responsibly.
