Bespoke Design - Long Bay

The manifestation of the quality in design can be seen first hand in this new show home at 2 Islet Road in Long Bay on Auckland's North Shore. A large contemporary home, the dwelling is spacious, sophisticated yet informal, in keeping with the character of the surrounding coastal area. You enter the home via a spectacular 2m wide atrium, which opens up to the second storey ceiling height. This features skylights and a dramatic glass fronted gallery providing access to the four bedrooms upstairs. The 3m high ceilings provide for a more spacious feel and allows for extra height in the windows too. The demands for living spaces that are cleaner, greener and more energy-efficient have not been overlooked either. This home is fully insulated with a non-toxic, thick sandwich of polyester in all external and internal walls, ceiling and mid-floor. To help conserve resources, the insulation is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. Together with the Argon gas filled double window glazing, this keeps the home cool in summer with minimal heating required in winter. The house is also very quiet internally.
