Interior fitout project where we focus on achieving the vintage barbershop design with a contemporary twist for our clients.  The joinery in the shop is introducing a sleek contemporary element to the common tiled walls of the vintage barbershop. 

Early in the project an importance was given to the acoustic properties of the space in relation to the hard surfaces that are common through barbershop design.  To further break from the hard surfaces we chose to incorporate a full height moss wall supplied by our friends at Outside:In.  This design choice was based on not only acoustic reasoning but to bring in some natural greenery amongst the concrete jungle of Auckland City for the occupants and clients of the shop. 

Central pendants are a feature in the shop, emitting warm light and reflecting of the polished concrete floor, acting as a blurred separation from entrance / waiting area to the working barber stations.
