Nestled in the heart of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Botanic House is a sought after dining and event space drawing upon the context of the landscape it sits in. The brief south to revitalise the existing building, provide a refined dining experience for visitors to the Gardens and increase capacity for functions whilst taking advantage of the natural garden settings.

In an effort to stay true to the the buildings original balcony outlook, natural light was enhance with sash-less floor to ceiling windows. An open deck was incorporated to extend the alfresco dining experience whilst blending seamlessly into the landscape.

Soft and light material palette allowed us to achieve a timeless scheme focused on texture and tone, very much in sync with the natural surrounds. Timber and rattan wall panelling bring warmth to the entrance whilst inserting a subtle nod to the Asian flavours present on the menu designed by celebrity chef Luke Nguyen.

The design enhances the open-air dining experience from within by creating a tranquil interior that pays homage to nature with a contemporary, modern twist.
