In a small 1890s built home in Parnell, a spare room with multiple functions needed some vision.

The brief for this room was to:

  • Maximise functionality
  • Design and create in an environmentally conscious way
  • Add warmth and space.

In a room 3m x 3.5m that was to be used for piano practise, kitchen, dining, and office. We first utilised placement of colour to create an illusion of space.

White floors and vintage grey walls in a range from The Natural Paint Company meant VOC free walls and clean air. Second-hand furniture with rounded edges made the room spacious and environmentally conscious. A floating shelf as a piano table created the illusion of a piano suspended in mid-air. Hanging plants added to the earth-friendly vibe and clean air as well as elongating the room and freeing up space on the floor. A large wicker pendant added drama and another natural element to the room.

The results were modern and eye catching. The space feels open and functions perfectly.

The kitchen wall is phase two, to be completed.

About the
Professional

Welcome to a place where we can align our love of stunning interiors and design with our commitment to the amazing planet we all call home.

Although I have worked for over a decade, passionately bringing interiors, artworks and exhibits to life, I’m also a military trained chef and a qualified yoga teacher. I have designed and manufactured a clothing line out of London and Brazil, lived and worked in more than 7 countries including Antarctica, and travelled to more than I can easily recall. At the core of all this creativity and insight, I have had a deep love of the planet and all its creations for my entire life.

My mission and genuine passion, is to inspire change in the design industry, to share knowledge and support the people doing fantastic things. It can seem overwhelming to choose the right shade of white sometimes, let alone create an entire space or renovation while considering the environment.

By showcasing and sharing products, services and project ideas, together, I believe we can learn to live a beautifully designed life with a lighter footprint.
