In addition to the primary storm-water function of the area, the landscape design for the site represents a balance between providing the functional requirements of stormwater treatment and restoring the biodiversity of the site, in addition to providing opportunities for the public to positively engage with the place by adding to the overall amenity and connection of the area.

About the

Earthwork Landscape Architects is a practice based in Christchurch, New Zealand with a strong commitment to its client’s needs and the landscape, a clear philosophy and a history of top quality project delivery. The practice grew out of a rural location where it expanded its expertise in site planning and public design to a broad range of professional engagement. These original strengths in logical, well planned design and a commitment to the natural environment have been retained in our work.

The company now employs seven people, works throughout the South Island of New Zealand and overseas, across commercial, public and private projects. The practice has identified its core skills and these form the backbone of the multidisciplinary work that is now typically carried out. These core skills are site planning, landscape identity, communication and project delivery.
