This client didn’t want an ordinary kitchen. This space was to be an entertainer's kitchen, one that takes care of the entire event from start to finish. So, it needed to be much more than just where you cook.

To increase natural light and to create a truly social space the wall which divided the dining and kitchen was removed to create a big a bright entertainers dream.

For a truly social kitchen, you need an area for everyone to gather around, therefore an island design was chosen.

Different bench materials at different heights were used to add contrasting texture and weight to the design. This also helped to differentiate the dining area from the kitchen work zone.

The cooktop and sink position was specified by the customer as to maximise the seating and entertainment area of the island.

Black acrylic cabinetry was chosen to not only add a bold statement but because of its contrasting finish against the wooden pitched ceiling.

A clean minimal look was important to the client; therefore, the fridge freezer and dishwasher were fully integrated. Black appliances, hardware and tapware were all selected so they would sit cohesively in the design.

To keep the lines clean and to accentuate the length of this layout the cabinets were fitted with a 45-degree beveled fronts.

This kitchen is now a showpiece and will certainly catch the eye of all who visits.
