The design of Cambridge Police Hub is the stunning result of a collaborative partnership between PAUA Architects, Waikato-Tainui and New Zealand Police. The design pays homage to the history and culture of the place and people and is both welcoming to the community as well as a functioning hub for police. 

The architecture of the building references a double-hulled waka (canoe) that reflects the collaboration between Mana Whenua and NZ Police. Inlaid into the lobby floor, the junction between the Karaapiro Stream and Waikato River is represented in plan view, and it is this connection to water that is carried through into the carpets. The combination of blue tones in modulyss Fluid& and Velvet& describe the flow of water threading through the spaces. Public-facing meeting rooms are in contrasting green tones, to reference the land.

Every effort was made by the design teams to be as sustainable as possible throughout the project, reusing materials and using planet-friendly products where they could. the sustainability and Green Star credentials of modulyss carpet tiles, being made from 100% recycled yarn, as a fit with this goal.
