Camp Glenorchy
Camp Glenorchy opened in March 2018 and provides resource-efficient visitor accommodation which aspires to set new standards in sustainable tourism, working towards a Net Zero energy target; a goal to generate as much energy as it uses to. Our hardworking team of plumbers and solar/heating technicians have been working on this project for almost 2 years, which is now completed. Mason & Wales Architects designed this exciting new facility based on the 'Living Building Challenge', following the principals of passive house design.
Optum won the Master Plumbers Award ‘Project of the Year’ 2018 for the work completed at the Camp Glenorchy project, which included:
- Solar Thermal Collector Panels for Hot Water
- Groundsource (Geothermal) Heating
- Underfloor Heating
- Plumbing & Drainage
