Located on a dramatic cliffside in Auckland, this coastal home was designed as a refined retreat for both hosting and family living. Initially a cabinetry commission, the project evolved into a full interior fit-out shaped by the client’s vision for natural textures, functional flow, and seamless spaces suited to both intimate moments and large-scale entertaining.

The palette draws from the surrounding land and sea—neutral stone, warm timber, and tactile finishes in bronze, brass, and plaster. At the heart of the home, a sculptural bronzite-stone kitchen island is paired with oak veneer, aged brass, and Italian seating, striking a balance between drama and hospitality. A fully equipped scullery sits discreetly behind, supporting daily use and effortless entertaining.

VidaSpace oak cabinetry with recessed brass pulls runs throughout, creating cohesion, while velvetina lime plaster walls and textured stone fireplaces add depth and softness. Smoked oak flooring grounds the living areas with warmth.

Thoughtful spatial planning allows expansive open areas to flow into quieter zones, enhancing indoor–outdoor living. Below, impressive engineering has delivered additional space for a wine cellar, cinema, gym, sauna, and bar.

A true collaboration, the result is an elegant, enduring interior; bold yet understated, and deeply aligned with both site and lifestyle.
