“We want a low maintenance and functional garden” is normally our brief when meeting new clients, and this garden exemplifies this ideology. We used crisp green astroturf around the side to minimise mowing, three simple small square planter boxes feature at the back to keep maintenance time to a minimum while also providing some functionality. The other side of the house is devoid of grasses, well traditional grasses that is, instead using beautiful lomandras against black mulch and black fencing to bring out their colour. At the front, a fireplace feature and long lasting durable kwila decking require minimal work, surrounded by Lily Pilly hedging and which will need the occasional trim. The entrance is sees a unique Awarua White Stone garden edge with weed free fescue grass - the part of the design that will entail the most maintenance.
