With a five star Qualmark accreditation Dunalister house is described by Luxury Escapes New Zealand as,"Spectacular, inspiring and pristine." The house is situated beside The Kinloch Club, the only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in New Zealand.
Spacious living areas have commanding views across the golf course to Lake Taupo, with all four en suite bedrooms presented at the highest attainable standard. Underfloor heating and double glazing ensure year-round comfort.
The Property is only available exclusively for single-party bookings, thereby ensuring maximum guest privacy. Only 15 minutes drive from Taupo, 50 Minutes from Rotorua and just over an hour to Mt Ruapehu, Dunalister House is the ideal location for a central North Island holiday!
The design of the glazed living pavilion shelters the north facing courtyard from the southerly winds yet allows views to the dramatic golf course and Lake Taupo beyond. Flanked by two en-suited bedrooms to each side of the living pavilion the courtyard opens to the sun. The stone walls create a sense of honesty and permanence linking to the landscaped grounds. The vertical shiplap cedar cladding adding a natural element to the simple forms. The fine vertical lines contrast the simple horizontal geometry of the ridge lines relating to the topography.Kinloch valleys dominate horizon landforms, echoing the vertical forms and ever changing colours of the stands of poplar and other specimen tree plantings neighbouring the house and golf course.
In such a dramatic landscape, the architectural response had to be appropriately considered and detailed. Dunalister House rises to the occasion.
