When Energy Australia consolidated its offices into one new city tower, Diadem ensured the new work environment was aligned with the company’s vision.

Diadem developed a wayfinding strategy, concept design and tender documentation for this significant move of the energy retailer’s staff.

Energy Australia consolidated their five Melbourne CBD offices into one A-grade office tower with over 10 levels and 20,000 square metres. Diadem was engaged to develop a wayfinding system that would work seamlessly across the building’s high-rise floors – from the entrance through to individual workstations.

As well as clearly expressing the brand, the brief was to complements the interior architecture of this new building, and to ensure all signage is legible, contemporary and sustainable.

The visual elements of various Australian landscapes at EnergyAustralia’s sites were the inspiration of the highlight colour for the wayfinding and environmental graphics, with a distinctive colour assigned to each level.

Diadem’s wayfinding system supports Energy Australia’s efficiency increase. The consistent numbering of workstations, meeting rooms, kitchen areas and break out spaces across the multiple levels, means that everyone can now find any colleague on any floor.

Beyond daily staff navigation, this project is a catalyst for organisational change and an opportunity to align the design outcome with Energy Australia’s strategic objectives.

Ultimately the project is aligning their people, place and technology with aspirations to create an environment that will enable the business to operate at its best.
