Fluid Office.

A new business development required the design of a new headquarters for Buyers Butler and jointly collaborated with Fluid Building Approvals. The brief was to create a collaborative environment for their team and more importantly reflect their prestigious brand.

The exterior elements and façade material treatments were selectively collated for a fully sustainable and maintenance free development. Stratco Hiland tray finished in a matt bold finish met the desired outcome for the architectural design outcome.

As you cross the threshold to the office space you are greeted by the warmth of natural polished concrete, timber and dark elements in the reception area which immediately set the tone for the rest of the space.

Functionality was key throughout the design process with requirements for an open plan workspace, break out meeting rooms, amenities, and relaxation spaces. The meeting rooms are a highlight, providing versatility, all technological requirements and comfort. Natural cross ventilation to the breakout areas provides team members and clients to feel comfortable whilst experiencing the open plan work environment.

The site conditions were the driving factor that created the built form with an elevated presence to factor flood mitigation. The western orientation encouraged the use of external aluminium batten screens increasing the dramatic effect of the light and shadows cast on the façade, as well as marginally breaking down the heavy material elements and bold colour scheme.

The building stands out proudly within its context, expressive of a modern contemporary designed workspace. A successful outcome to the client brief.
