A thoughtfully designed office fitout in Auckland, inspired by the concept of renewal, featuring warm wood finishes and flexible workspaces that foster connection and community among employees.

“The fitout design, finishes and feel were heavily inspired by “He Whakatauki tēnei: ka mate kainga tahi ka ora kainga rua” – when one house is gone or dead a new one arises. Connection and a continuous flow of meaning was integral to the design decisions and the experience.”

This 1980s building that extends over two floors, creating a connective space for workers was key. Welcoming workers and clients into the space, flowing through the building, creating links into other workspaces. Characteristic wood adds warmth to the workspace, grounding the people who work through and spend time in this building. An amazing part of the creative process was investigating what the employers wanted in their work environment, work culture and work styles, which shines through in the design of the space, including spaces for community, eating, alone time, work calls and privacy.
