Grace Apartments Mosgiel

This new three-story apartment complex provides elegant accommodation and high quality, medium density development at the intersection of residential and commercial neighbourhoods in Mosgiel, a quiet satellite suburb of Dunedin. Commissioned by an innovative developer committed to bringing better properties to the market, the Grace Apartments are a bold departure from typical profit driven multi residential offerings. The success of this visionary development can be measured by how quickly it sold, but perhaps more importantly, the warmer, dryer and healthier living environment the building provides for its occupants. Located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, the apartments are oriented due north with generous courtyards and external decks that provide space for sunny alfresco entertaining and deep eaves for solar control within the apartments during summer. Constructed with a palette of our favourite materials; concrete, steel and glass, the apartment complex contains 10 studio apartments and a larger penthouse suite on the third floor. The robust concrete tilt slab wall and composite floor construction has been selected to provide a low maintenance building envelope which projects an aesthetic of permanence, but has the added benefit of reducing sound transmission between apartments. Crisp steel detailing, glass balustrades and large expanses of double glazed thermally broken doors and windows further enhance the refined aesthetic and sense of light, openness and quality that pervades the building.
