By Tse Architects
Tse Architects were approached to solve the problem of how to construct a traditional North Indian style, Swaminarayan temple in West Auckland. The design solution successfully combined traditional Indian craftsmanship with modern New Zealand construction methods. Prototype sandstone carvings made in India were used to form moulds for the production of glass reinforced concrete (GRC) components. The GRC components were shipped from India to New Zealand to be incorporated in the building as construction proceeded. Final finishing of the highly detailed exterior was carried out with the assistance of specialist craftsmen especially brought over from India for the project.
Tse Architects combine the skills of Architects, Interior Designers, Urban and Landscape Designers to provide expert design solutions across a broad spectrum of developments including: Commercial and Government buildings, Industrial Developments, Office fit-outs, Civic buildings, Retail and Hospitality Outlets and Residential projects. Projects have been completed throughout New Zealand; International commissions have also been undertaken in China and Vietnam.
