Hinuera Carvings Tainui

Elevate Sealing Solutions was contracted by Waikato Tainui to clean and seal the carved Pou located along the road to the Endowed College of Research and Development and the offices of the Maori King. These intricately carved Hinuera Pou hold deep cultural significance for the Iwi. The project commenced with a blessing of each Pou and a karakia to welcome the team. Given the intricate carvings and their exposure to the elements, Elevate employed specialized methods and procedures to ensure thorough cleaning and sealing. Our techniques allowed us to carefully penetrate the detailed edges and features of the carvings without causing any damage or distortion, preserving both the lettering and intricate details. Elevate’s expertise in handling these delicate surfaces restored the Pou to their intended prominence within the landscape.
